Jenelle Yochim (salt & sunlight) was born & raised in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; she is a prairie girl through & through. Jenelle has been writing poetry since she was in the sixth grade, and began performing her poetry when she was 15 years old. She believes in the value of community and the power of poetry as a tool in creating it.

Christine Johnston (My Artistree) is a passionate writer, poet, singer-songwriter, composer, producer, artist, business owner, mother, lover, sister, daughter, auntie, and friend to all who walk difficult roads behind closed doors that lead to beautiful places in everyday life. She is obsessed with unveiling truth through performance art.

Bryson Tyrick Bolianatz (Bolantz) is a poet, writer, musician, and life enthusiast. Hailing from Regina, Saskatchewan, he moved to Saskatoon in 2019 and has since been enjoying and collecting inspiration from the glorious happenings of the Paris of the Prairies. In 2022 his poetry collection ‘What it (really) Means to be Human’ was released.

K.$TONE - Hailing from La Loche, Saskatchewan, K.$TONE is a Dene artist who delivers stories of his hometown and experiences through spoken word poetry and music.

Alexandra Jarrett (Axis) has a spoken word style that’s rhythmic, thought-provoking, and non-conforming. She aims for her body of work to remain consistently about deeper issues and taboos that plague society. As an empath, she wants her work to bring more compassion to ourselves and our world.

Kevin Wesaquate (POETIK Wesaquate) is a multi-disciplinary Indigenous arts leader and the founder of the Indigenous Poetry Society. Kevin has represented Saskatoon at the Canadian Individual Slam in Vancouver. He also participated for the Canadian Festival of Spoken Word (CFSW). He is from Piapot First Nation, where he learned the value of a community. Sahkihitok (love one another).

Greg Orrē (pronounced "greg-ory") is a Saskatoon-based multidisciplinary artist working in music, poetry, and visual art. His creative practice explores themes of nature, identity, memory, and the human condition. Formerly the lead singer of Too Soon Monsoon, Orrē launched his solo career in 2020 with the album I Am In It, Vol 1 and an accompanying handmade poetry collection. His 2024 album, I Am In It, Vol 2, is a symphonic folk-rock spectacular. He is set to release a new poetry book and album in 2025.

The prairies are alive with the sound of poetry, and these artists believe wholeheartedly in its power to transform and nurture the human spirit. Whether you’re an avid reader or a first time listener, there’s something in it for everyone.
