About Nuit Blanche Eve

Nuit Blanche Eve is a collaboration between the University of Saskatchewan (Department of Art and Art History, Canadian Light Source, Observatory, Museum of Natural Sciences, Museum of Antiquities, and USask Art Galleries) and Nuit Blanche Saskatoon.

Nuit Blanche Eve at the USask is made possible by the support of the USask Art Galleries, the Department of Art and Art History and Nuit Blanche Saskatoon.

Held for the first time in 2019, Nuit Blanche Eve transformed various locations across the University of Saskatchewan campus into interactive and digital art installations. Locations included the USask Observatory, Museum of Natural Sciences, Museum of Antiquities, USask Art Galleries, and the Arts Tower.

Nuit Blanche Eve 2021 featured 16 diverse Augmented Reality artworks created by 12 USask students: Alleah Bowring, Ming Zhang, Jesse Fulcher Gagnon, Danya Lawton, Rod Goertzen, Elizabeth Laidlaw, Eva Francis-Work, Leanne Read, Athena Ni, Chantelle Matkowski, Milzedrich Salcedo and Gabrielle Da Silva. Nuit Blanche Eve 2020 was presented online hosted through the Shared Spaces app as part of their first public User Test. The 2020 event featured 3D sculptures, videos, and other AR artworks created by 10 USask students: Mohsen AhiAndy, Breanne Bandur, Emily Johnson, Jenna Kachur & Kurt Wolfe, Nicolas Leroy, Qihang Liang, Emilie Neudorf, Leanne Read and Caila Robson-Kullman. This year’s performances, and projections included works by by Jean-Sébastien Gauthier and Dr Brian F. Eames, Marcel Petit, Fatemeh Ebrahimnejadnamini, Shawn Kauenhofen, Jaden Kraus, Emilie Neudorf, Rebecca Vereschagin and Lauren Warrington.
