HAPPY HOURS / SAD MINUTES

NUIT BLANCHE EVE 2022

“Happy Hour/Sad Minutes” is an hour-long program of moving image works from the Digital and Integrated Practice Program (DIP) in the Department of Art & Art History at the University of Saskatchewan.  The short videos and animations explore representations of self, psychological states, (dis)ability, familial relationships, ecological concerns, and other musings on the Universe.  The works emanate the full spectrum of emotion from joyful bliss to sorrowful melancholy. They ask for deep reflection, an embracing of the absurd, and the suspension of disbelief as magic happens and meaning is unearthed in the everyday.
