Indigenous Student Achievement Pathways

“Troposphere”

The troposphere is the layer of the Earth’s atmosphere where clouds form. Water vapour condenses around microscopic nuclei, exchanging energy with air to create visible clouds as well as the wind and weather that shape community experiences.

In ISAP’s Troposphere, visitors are invited to help a new kind of cloud take shape. Connect grounding words (nuclei) with storied ribbons of transparent film and paper, building an illuminated and embodied mahkaskwâw (great cloud) that reflects the many ways our experiences intersect, reflect, and celebrate relationship, similarity, and difference.

This is an interactive installation focused on connecting through story in Treaty 6 and the Homeland of the Métis. A visiting space in the Trish Monture Centre (Arts 250) will be open for tea and storytelling.
